Staging....Where do I start?
Answers from Sunny McGann of Lane Madison Design

  • The first look at your home will really make an impression on a potential home buyer. Preparing the outside of your home is just as important as what you do on the inside.  A new doormat, weeding out your plant beds and a pretty wreath on the front door can really go a long way to impress home buyers. Some colorful plants by the front door can also make the area by your front door look cheerful.

Making the front of your house look neat and tidy is the key to whether or not someone decides to even come through your front door!

Staging a home is a great way for potential home buyers to visualize themselves in your space. One way to get started to is to de-personalize your rooms. Remove family photos and clutter. Put away all those collections you may have so that when people walk through your home, their eye is drawn to the features of the room.

Clean out those closets! Neatly folding your towels and organizing linens will improve the look of your closets if someone decides to take a peek at storage options.

When was the last time you painted? A fresh coat of neutral paint can really change the look of a room. Potential home buyers will see a clean slate in which they can visualize their furnishings.
